Checklist for creating a Collection

Below is a list of information you will need to prepare in order to deploy your smart contract and create a collection on Foundation.

Smart Contract

Through our flow, we will walk you through the steps to create and deploy your smart contract. All of these steps happen within the Foundation website we make it easy!

Note that once a smart contract is made, no changes can be made to it, and it will be recorded on the Ethereum blockchain, as you deployed it, forever.

Important: Make sure that there are no spelling errors before deployment.

  • Collection Name

    • The name of your collection!
  • Collection Symbol

    • This acts as the smart contract token name on the Ethereum blockchain.

    • If your collection is called "Sunset", you might use something like "SNST" or "SET" for the symbol.

Collection Page

The collection page is the home for all of your works on Foundation. Add your collection logo and cover image to make your page stand out! Note that you are able to update any of the information on your collection page at any time.

  • Collection Logo: 1920 x 1920 JPG, PNG, or GIF. 10MB max.

  • Cover Image: 2800x2000 JPG, PNG, or GIF. 10MB max.

  • Collection Description: 500 words or less

Collection NFTs

Prepare all of the works for minting, including all of the necessary artwork titles and descriptions.

  • Artwork Names

  • Artwork Descriptions

  • Artwork Files

  • Mint your works in the reverse order that you want them to appear on your profile. You're unable to rearrange them once minted.

Important: Make sure that there are no spelling errors and your file meets our specs (JPG, GIF, SVG, PNG, MP4, GLTF or GLB, max 50mb) before minting.

Once you mint an NFT, no changes can be made. If you want to make any changes, you will need to burn and re-mint your NFT. There are gas fees incurred during the burn and re-mint process!
